A Repeater Enabling Small Signal Backscattering Amplification and Forward Harmonic Generation

This paper introduces a novel repeater designed to backscatter the incident fundamental signal while simultaneously doubling the frequency of the forward signal. The input signal can be as low as -50 dBm. By synergistically combining tunnel diodes, transistors, and varactors, the repeater can produce gains of 30.15 dB and 58.1 dB in backscattering amplification and forward harmonic generation, respectively.
