Performance parameters consideration for 5G backhaul network

This study focuses on the 5G backhaul network and the impacts of backhaul technologies on the Quality of Service (QoS) and user experiences, in particular, delay and capacity planning requirements. Thus, to help providers, developers, and deployers when planning to introduce 5G technology to developing countries. It is seen to be a solution to improve their quality of services in terms of transportation, education, health, agriculture, and other fields, thereby holding the promises of economic transformation by improving productivity and the quality of life. In this study, end to end (E2E) one-way delay and capacity planning design for different 5G scenarios are simulated and analysed. The primary results show an accepted value for specific bandwidth factors, further work will carry out to adjust the bandwidth factors for more accurate results. Simulation in this study proves that the method to determine the required link capacity is by observing the traffic delay and users access statistics and increasing the capacity incrementally by changing the factor for each link in the network, till achieve the optimal capacity.
