Directions for the Development of SDN Networks: Setting Tasks, Management Methods, Interfaces.

The adoption of SDN technology in the construction of telecommunications operators’ networks can significantly enhance operational efficiency through centralized management, virtualization of network element functions, applications, and services, as well as the separation of hardware and software functions. Simultaneously, operators gain the autonomy to independently develop applications and implement them in addition to the core software. This accelerates the process of introducing new services to network users. This article explores the design features of the controller, protocols, interfaces, and the functional composition of elements. Comparative characteristics of various controllers are presented and assessed based on specific criteria, providing an overall understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each controller.Effective methods for solving management problems are essential. It is crucial to identify system elements that will facilitate the collection of necessary information about the network’s state and ensure the identification of deviations in network parameters from standardized values. This work places significant emphasis on addressing these issues.
