Design of a Dual-Polarized Printed Umbrella-Dipole Antenna with High Isolation

In this paper, a novel dual-polarized umbrella printed dipole antenna is presented. The dual-polarized printed dipole is composed of two vertical single polarized printed dipoles. Balance micro-strip line balun is utilized as feed line, printed dipole is adopted as radiation element. The characteristics of the antenna are calculated by Ansoft HFSS simulation software. By introducing a new structure of the antenna, the bandwidth of the impedance is about 26% of the central frequency, also the isolation has improved 7~15dB. In the future application of the missile seeker or synthetic aperture radars, the technology of the dual-polarization can improve the anti-jamming capabilities deeply.
