G-Band FMCW SAR System Implementation and Experiment*

Compared with the commonly used centimetre wave band, the G-band frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system is easier to achieve high-resolution, low-power and miniaturisation. the G-band has a short wavelength, which is more suitable for short-range imaging. this paper proposes the scheme design of a G-band FMCWSAR system, and carries out the development of the principle prototype of the SAR system and tests, which achieves centimetre-level resolution imaging. The system prototype is completed on a self-developed slide platform, and different targets are set up in the test scenario for imaging tests to obtain several sets of effective test data. The data were processed using gradient-based self-focusing method (PGA) to obtain ideal SAR images. The experimental results prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the G-band FMCWSAR system.
