A Comparative Study of Two High Step-Up DC-DC Voltage Converters

High step-up dc-dc voltage converters are widely used in photovoltaic systems and UPS. Among these converters, the basic boost converter and boost-based hybrid converters are widely presented in the technical literature. This paper presents the results of a comparative study involving two non-isolated topologies, taking into account features such as efficiency, devices count-rate and sizing, and modularization capability. The study is supported by simulation and experimental essays, which respectively confirm the proposed theory and feasibility.
