MoS2 Nano Particles for UV Absorption in Solar Cells

MoS
2
is a promising 2D material for solar energy harvesting applications due to its size-dependent tunable bandgap and attractive magnetic, optical, and electrical properties. This study shows an easy way to deposit a 2D layer of MoS
2
nanoparticles on top of AZO/Quartz, AZO/Si, and bare Si. We investigate their UV-Vis spectral responses and potential for application in optoelectronic systems. Furthermore, compare the IV characteristic effect of MoS
2
2D nanoparticles. Initial results indicate modification of the absorption spectrum over the UV-Vis range with an evident increase in the higher visible and lower UV range.
