Study on Multipoint Grounding of Harness Shield in Open Area of Aircraft

The modeling method of the harness in the open area of the aircraft and the calculation method of the induced current when the electric field irradiates in multiple directions are given. On this basis, the calculation method of the shielding effectiveness improvement caused by multi-point grounding is provided, and the frequency that reaches the maximum value for the first time is also calculated. Meanwhile, the geometric factors that affect the induced current are discussed. In response to the above analytical method, this article finally makes the 3D simulation using FEKO software, and the simulation results are consistent with theoretical calculations. In practical engineering, grounding points should be selected and arranged according to the needs.
