Accident Detection and Alarm System for Emergency Help Services

As the number of vehicles on the road continues to increase, so does the probability of occurrence of accidents. In response, there is a need for a system that can automatically detect accidents and notify emergency services, family members, and nearby individuals. This article presents a comprehensive study on the design, implementation, and evaluation of a novel system that leverages advanced sensor technologies and real-time communication to swiftly detect accidents involving two-wheelers and promptly notify emergency help services. The proposed system integrates a range of sensors, such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and GPS modules, to accurately monitor the motion and orientation of the two-wheeler. Through a sophisticated algorithmic approach, the system can differentiate between normal riding scenarios and potential accidents, thereby significantly reducing false alarms. In the event of a detected accident, the system rapidly transmits distress signals to a centralized emergency response center, furnishing precise location data for the quick dispatch of aid to the accident site. The system is tested on a bike to simulate real-world usage. The proposed model can help decrease the number of fatalities resulting from a lack of emergency aid at accident sites.
