IoT Based System to Predict the Defects of Tires in Heavy Vehicle

The importance of introducing Predictive Maintenance of Tire (PMT) in global scenario increases day by day as it increases human safety by reducing the chances of accidents. The present research focuses on continuous monitoring of Tire Thickness (TT) of heavy vehicles and communicating the current health of Tire to the remote. The ultrasonic sensor is used to measure TT due to its inherent advantages over other sensors. The Micro Controller Unit (MCU) with Wi-Fi capability Node-MCU ESP8266 serves to process sensor data and judge TT value to select PMT recommendations defined based on available knowledge. It aids to communicate PMT recommendations to the identified user for further action. The reliability of developed system has been demonstrated at different test conditions without physically testing the Tires.
