Clutter Suppression Approach Based on AI for Wideband Microwave Photonic Radar

This paper focuses on exploring the effectiveness of AI in clutter suppression based on microwave photonic radar. Clutter is generally defined as scattered echoes from objects other than the target, and these clutter powers can sometimes be much stronger than even the target's echo signal, which makes the detection of target echoes by radar very difficult. The hourglass network, as a new convolutional network structure, can process the features of the target at all scales of the image and capture the spatial information associated with the target. Therefore, an attempt is made to process the imaging results of radar ISAR with hourglass network to learn the feature information of target imaging and thus suppress the display of clutter.
