DSP-Free Demultiplexing for DP-QPSK Reception in Frequency Synchronous Optical Networks

We propose the concept of frequency-synchronous optical network (FSON) that enables the transmit and receive lasers to be quasi-synchronous. In doing this, we demonstrate the world-first polarization and phase demultiplexing of DP-QPSK signals without electronic DSP.
