Research on Iterative Method for The Potential Distribution Calculation of Arrester

This research paper analyzes the potential distribution of an AC 500 kV GIS (Gas Insulated Substation) tank arrester with high-gradient resistor sheets under continuous operating voltage. The study proposes a new calculation method for potential distribution and establishes a correlation between the relative permittivity of the resistor sheet and its chargeability through measurements of its relative dielectric constant. The results provide valuable insights into improving the performance of the arrester and enhancing the safety and reliability of substation operations.
