The Scheme of an Expert System for Processing Multispectral Information from an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

Nowadays, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (further on referred to as UAV) is a promising way to diagnose power grid elements. Replacing the currently used teams of workers with the above-mentioned method will make it possible to solve the problems of finding and eliminating defects much faster and more accurately on such extended and difficult-to-reach electric power facilities as power lines. Obtaining more extensive information about defects requires installing sensors of various spectra on board UAV: visible, infrared and ultraviolet. The expert system based on artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies should be used to process multispectral information. The expert system (further on referred to as ES) is a complex of hardware and software installed both on the UAV and on the operator's devices, from which the flight is controlled and information is received. The scheme and principles of this system operation will be discussed in the article.
