Design of low-carbon industrial integrated energy system based on unified carbon efficiency analysis

In an effort to tackle global climate change, achieving the targets of carbon peak and carbon neutrality is a major strategy at present and in the future in China. To achieve the targets, traditional industries need to transition to a low-carbon integrated energy system (IES) in the future. This paper proposes a unified carbon efficiency analysis method, defines the carbon emission accounting boundary and carbon emission function, proposes carbon efficiency analysis indicators, and uses multi-factor sensitivity analysis to analyze and evaluate the carbon efficiency of each node in the process. Through the case application of a coil factory, the carbon efficiency of its production process was evaluated, key nodes were identified, and the design of these nodes could improve the carbon efficiency of the product by 2.7min/kgCO
2
e, which proved that this analysis method was helpful to better design the low-carbon IES and improve the carbon efficiency of the IES.
