The Matrix Autotransformer Switched Capacitor DC-DC Converter with Partial Power Processing Regulator for Datacenter Application

This paper targets on proposing a 45V~52V to 5V high-power density, high-efficiency regulated DC-DC converter for data center application. It adopts the input series output parallel structure that combines the a new circuit called matrix autotransformer switched capacitor converter (MASC) in series with buck converter to achieve regulation purpose. The MASC can work at DCX mode to realize higher efficiency, and the buck converter for regulation purpose only needs to process less than 23% of the total power to keep superior performance for the whole prototype. The detailed analysis of the circuit working principle are shown in this paper, and the maximum efficiency can be up to 97.85%. Both the simulation as well as experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed circuit.
