Development of Flexible Polymer Composites Films for the Study of Charge Storage Ability

A comprehensive study of dielectric and ferroelectric properties of polymer nanocomposite films prepared by the solution casting method is reported. The current-voltage characteristics curves of the investigated samples shows the electrical hysteresis behavior. Such hysteresis behavior may arise from various mechanisms like charge trapping, polarization effects and interface phenomena The appearance of the prominent ferroelectric hysteresis loop and enhanced dielectric permittivity of bismuth ferrite (BFO) incorporated polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and functionalized multiwall carbon nanotube (f-MWCNT) embedded polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) films indicate good energy storage ability. Hence both BFO-PVA and f-MWCNT-PVDF films will be suitable for flexible energy storage device applications.
