Adaptive Fault-tolerant Control for Half-Vehicle Suspension under Actuator Failures and Dead Zones

This paper investigates the adaptive fault-tolerant control for half-vehicle suspension under actuator faults and dead zones. Based on adaptive control theory, a fault-tolerant controller is proposed to address these challenges under non-ideal actuators. The controller is designed according to the nonlinear suspension model, enabling accurate tracking and effective vibration suppression while addressing actuator faults. Meanwhile, rigorous controller stability proofs and zero dynamic analyses are provided. Finally, the effectiveness and reliability of the designed controller for half-car active suspension systems are validated through simulation results.
