Comparative Design Analysis of Ultra-Low Power RF Self-Oscillating-Mixers

The main objective of the paper is to design ultra-low power self-oscillating mixer (SOM) for IoT applications. The article presents two different architectures of radio-frequency (RF) SOMs and exhibits their implementation in 130nm CMOS technology. It elaborates a comparative study of both designs on the basis of their performances through power consumption, noise, gain, area and linearity. Their stability versus process and mismatch variations through Monte Carlo simulations are also presented.
