Face Mask Detection Using Deep Learning of VGG19

With the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in 2019, various industries in the world have been hit hard, and in 2022, the epidemic situation is still severe. To prevent the spread of the epidemic, wearing a mask has become the most effective method. Based on this situation, detecting whether people wear masks has become a very popular research direction in the field of artificial intelligence in recent years. In this study, the author uses the pre-trained haar cascade model to achieve rapid face recognition and then puts the picture into the trained VGG19 model for mask recognition. Finally, the accuracy of the entire recognition is 98.79%, and the loss is 0.04.
