Outage Performance Analysis of Full-Duplex Cooperative Nonorthogonal Multiple Access System

This paper investigates the outage performance analysis for a downlink cooperative nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network over Nakagami-m fading channels. Specifically, the strong NOMA user exploits full-duplex (FD) mode, while the decoded forwarding relay strategy is employed to improve the outage performance in terms of the weak user. We first derive the closed-form expressions of outage probability for both legitimate users and the considered system. To achieve a more comprehensive analysis, the FD-based self-interference is also taken into account. Then, Monte Carlo simulations have been presented to verify the accuracy of the theoretical derivations. Finally, the analytical and numerical results manifest that the proposed scheme outperforms the benchmark scheme. Also, the outage performance can be further enhanced through proper power allocation optimization.
