Optimal Spot Market Trading of Electricity Service Provider under Renewable Energy and Price Uncertainties

In the context of electricity market reform and the increasing integration of renewable energy, electricity service provider (ESP) has assumed the role of intermediaries in electricity market transactions. However, the unpredictability of renewable energy and the uncertainty of load demand expose ESPs to market risks during spot market transactions. To address these issues, this study first develops an operation model for ESP under spot market transactions. Subsequently, leveraging the credibility theory, the spot electricity price and electricity load are treated as fuzzy variables, and a fuzzy chance constraint model is formulated to address multiple uncertainties. The model aims to maximize the realization of optimal spot market transactions for ESPs while considering both expected operating costs and operation risks arising from various uncertainties. Finally, numerical analysis is conducted on the IEEE 33-node distribution network to evaluate the proposed model. Various scenarios with different levels of uncertain risk factors are set to examine the model's performance. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the model in optimizing spot market transactions for ESP under multiple uncertainties.
