Coordinated Operation Strategy for Multi-application Scenarios of Energy Storage in Traction Supply Power System Considering Uncertainty

The economic benefits of energy storage system (ESS) acting in a single application scenario are not high, and the traction load is stochastic, resulting in further weakening of the energy and power balance capability of the traction power supply system (TPSS) and affecting the dispatch operation of the traction substation. In view of the above problems, a synergistic operation strategy is proposed for the ESS to participate in both peak shaving and valley filling and plan tracking application scenarios at the same time. Firstly, the ESS capacity allocation of multi-application scenarios is quantitatively evaluated by energy storage capacity coefficients, and the day-ahead scheduling plan of the traction substation is investigated according to the optimal return under the traction load peak shaving and valley filling application scenarios, based on which the coordinated and optimal scheduling model of multi-application scenarios based on chance constraint planning is constructed by taking into consideration the uncertainty of the prediction error of the traction load to determine the optimal operation strategy of the ESS. Based on the actual data of a traction substation, different schemes are set up to compare and verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, and the impact of confidence level on penalty cost is analyzed.
