Lunar Environment Evaluation of Sleeve Antenna

Communication in the lunar environment presents unique challenges that require carefully designed and specialized antenna solutions. This study investigates the antenna performance of the Rashid lunar rover in Atlas Crater. Thermal studies show that the temperature at Atlas Crater can go higher than 80°C during the lunar mid-day. The results in this paper highlight the effect of different materials used as a thermal coating for Rashid rover antenna. To enhance our understanding of antenna performance, the study has been extended to include the influence of lunar regolith conductivity and depth in the Atlas Crater. By incorporating lunar regolith considerations, this paper contributes to the development of a robust communication system for Rashid rover and for future lunar missions.
