Equilibrium Optimizer Tuned TID Controller Based Automatic Voltage Regulator

This study examines the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) tuning with optimal gains of tilt integral derivative (TID) controller. The purpose of this article is to show the performance of Equilibrium Optimizer (EO) tuned TID controller for AVR, whose performance is compared with two different algorithms particle swarm optimization (PSO) and firefly algorithm (FA) tuned TID controller. An Integral Absolute Error (IAE) serves as the cost function for the study. The simulation results have shown that the suggested EO tuned TID controller is superior compared to PSO and FA tuned TID controller in terms of peak overshoot, undershoot and settling time in attaining the dynamics of the AVR including cost value.
