Multifeed Beam-Switchable Cylindrical Conformal Holographic Metasurface Antenna

A multifeed beam-switchable cylindrical conformal antenna based on holographic metasurface is proposed in this letter, which can realize five switchable radiation beams through a shared aperture in the conformal case. The proposed cylindrical conformal holographic metasurface antenna consists of five subregions, and five monopoles for feeding are placed in each subregion. Switchable radiation beams are realized by switching the corresponding feeding monopoles in turn. The gains of different radiation beams can be adjusted by changing the area of the aperture sizes of different subregions. The proposed holographic metasurface antenna working at 15 GHz is simulated, fabricated, and measured. Five switchable beams with different radiation directions are designed to achieve large deflected angles of 60°, and the realized gain variations among these five beams are less than 1 dB.
