Re-Engineering Public Services Business Process of Population and Civil Registration Agency at Central Bangka Regency

Advances in information technology, the government is challenged to manage it so that the quality of services provided to the public can be improved. This study aims to redesign business process of population administration that leads to issues of community service, speed and cost. To address the issues, this study employs the Business Process Reengineering (BPR) technique to transform business processes of population administration in Central Bangka Regency to be better. This technique consists of business processes, integration, technology, cross-functional coordination, timing and objectives. The research is started by collecting information through interview and observation, literature review. Furthermore, the research conducts in-depth interview to service managers and the community. The research findings show that during the recommendation phase, BPRs can replace old business processes with new approaches, which is more efficient processes in terms of time-consuming and service costs.
