Heat dissipation investigation of a high torque hub motor

The cooling performance of a high torque hub motor determines the safety and stability of motor operation. In this paper, a hub motor used for wheel traction of heavy trucks is studied, and a water channel cooling structure is designed to address the issue of high stator temperature rise. The CFD-based method is used to analyze the effects of water channel structure form, coolant flow rate, and coolant medium on the cooling effect and differential pressure ($\Delta \mathrm{P}$) of the motor. It has a reference significance for the heat dissipation study of high torque hub motors cooled by water channels.
