Iron Loss Calculation and Thermal Analysis of High-Speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors Under Various Load Conditions

High-speed permanent-magnet synchronous motors (HSPMSMs) have broad application prospects due to their high power density and excellent dynamic performance. However, the motor is affected by the high-frequency magnetic field, causing the silicon steel sheet to work in the nonlinear magnetization region of the ferromagnetic material, which complicates the motor loss analysis and increases the loss density, thereby reducing the motor performance. This paper takes a 30kw, 22000rpm HSPMSM as an example to analyze its magnetic field distribution characteristics and losses. A more accurate calculation model of iron consumption is proposed, and combined with the field-circuit coupling method, the accuracy of the calculation model is verified. Then, the calculation model of the steady-state temperature field of the motor is established by using the electromagnetic-thermal coupling simulation. Provides accurate temperature rise characteristics for further optimization of HSPMSM.
