Single Current Sensor Fault-Tolerant Control and Harmonic Suppression Method for Dual Three Phase PMSM Based on Axes Transformation

Dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machines (DTP-PMSMs) are widely used in fields requiring high reliability. Through vector space decomposition (VSD) transformation, the phase currents are transformed into fundamental subplane and harmonic subplane. Traditional current sensor fault-tolerant control methods based on axes transformation require at least two current sensors, moreover, system losses caused by harmonic currents can not be suppressed. The method proposed in this paper reduces the number of current sensors required by utilizing the constraint relationship between currents in different subplanes. In addition, the rotating coordinate transformation and the sixth order PR controller are introduced into the harmonic subplane, which can effectively suppress the harmonic currents. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective.
