Passive Magnetic Shielding Study for Wireless Power Transfer System

In order to reduce the impact of the magnetic field leaking during the charging process of the Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system on the surrounding life and electronic devices, in this paper, the magnetic induction intensity around the 3. 3kW WPT system device is studied by circuit simulation, finite element simulation and physical experiments. The shielding effect of adding shielding only on the energy receiving coil side and adding shielding on both the energy transmitting coil side and energy receiving coil side are compared and analyzed, and the self-inductance and mutual inductance between the coils are analyzed in these two shielding methods. The results show that the proposed single-side ferrite shielding method achieves a maximum reduction of 41.4% in magnetic induction, and the shielding method on both sides achieves a maximum reduction of 60.5% in magnetic induction in the target magnetic shielding area. This method achieves good passive shielding effect and is suitable for electric vehicle WPT system.
