Electromagnetic Vibration of PMSM With Dual Stator Teeth of Different Width Fed by Voltage Source Inverter

The study of vibration and noise for different motor structures and various control method is a hot topic that has drawn much attention in recent years. In this paper, the characteristics of electromagnetic force and vibration in the permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) with dual stator teeth of different width, fed by voltage source inverter (VSI) with space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) strategy, are studied. Based on finite element analysis (FEA), the frequency and spatial order of radial electromagnetic force is analyzed. An experimental test of a 10kW, S-pole, 48-slot interior type PMSM with two nonuniformly distributed teeth is carried out. The influence of nonuniformly distributed stator teeth on the order of electromagnetic force, and the effects of modulation strategies on high frequency vibration, are extensively studied.
