High mobility of people, things, animals is an essential part of today's life. Given the fundamental role of mobility in our lives, it is necessary to determine the location of individuals and various objects. Location tracking enables better navigation, management and optimization of various processes, whether in industrial production, services, transport, animal tracking or even in personal life. To facilitate the task of determining the location of monitored objects, it is advisable to use a dedicated device, which we refer to as a location device. In this article, we will delve into the communication technology and the technology necessary for determining the location of the target point. We will explore communication technologies that facilitate the transfer of information between the localization module and the output communication module connected to a server. Additionally, we will consider the selection of technology that supports location determination via satellite positioning systems. Our analysis will also encompass existing solutions, techniques, and algorithms related to location devices.
