Design of a Small Beidou RDSS Shaped Circular Polarization Dual Frequency Transceiver Antenna

RDSS service is a unique feature of the Beidou satellite navigation system that distinguishes it from other GNSS systems. It uses GEO satellites to transmit signals between users and the central station. Due to the high transmission loss of satellite to ground signals, it poses a great challenge to the design of miniaturized user terminal antennas. On the one hand, it needs to have good wide-angle circular polarization performance, and on the other hand, it needs to have beamforming ability to avoid electromagnetic interference with other satellite systems. This article designs a conformal RDSS dual frequency transceiver antenna, which uses rotary feeding technology and multi-antenna beam synthesis to achieve circular polarization beam shaping. By optimizing the radiation patch form and dielectric plate size, the transceiver isolation and circular polarization axis ratio within a wide angle range are achieved. The simulation results show that the circular polarization axis ratio of the antenna within the range of ± 75° on the H plane and ± 25° on the E plane is less than 3dB, and the antenna gain is greater than 1dBi. It is suitable for monitoring small-scale devices with complex electromagnetic environments in working scenarios such as RDSS user terminals.
