Simulation Research on Variable Geometry Turbocharging System of Diesel Engine

In this paper, GT-POWER software is used to establish and verify the diesel engine simulation model of a variable geometry turbocharging system for a marine diesel engine matching a variable geometry turbocharger. The influence law of performance parameters such as turbine outlet temperature, boosting ratio, fuel consumption and maximum combustion pressure with different turbine nozzle ring opening degrees were studied. The results show that with the decrease of turbine nozzle ring opening degree, the low working condition performance of diesel engine can be effectively improved, and the low fuel consumption area of diesel engine can be expanded, the matching strategy of the turbine nozzle ring opening degree under the propulsion characteristics of the diesel engine with the variable geometry turbocharging system is obtained, so as to reduce the running cost of the diesel engine.
