Evaluating and Dispatching Flexibility in Power System with High-Penetration New Energy

Due to the increased penetration of renewable energy, heightened uncertainty threatens the power system, necessitating the consideration of flexibility balance in dispatching operations. Traditional reliability evaluation metrics are inadequate in addressing this challenge. To address this, an optimal dispatching model incorporating flexibility reservation is proposed, accompanied by a set of probability-based flexibility evaluation metrics. Through a comparative analysis with the traditional model, the example analysis demonstrates that the proposed model effectively harnesses the system's flexibility supply capacity, while the introduced evaluation metrics offer a reasonable quantification of the system's flexibility balance capacity.
