Capacity Planning of PV-Storage Power Station with Hybrid Energy Storage

Aiming at the capacity planning and operation economy of the new PV-storage power station participating in the multi-time scale frequency modulation service of the power grid, an optimal operation strategy based on the life cycle model of frequency modulation resources is proposed. First of all, the characteristics of standby photovoltaic, flywheel energy storage and lithium energy storage were studied and analyzed, and their full life cycle models were established. Secondly, Capacity planning method is developed based on the mechanism of resources participating in the primary and secondary frequency modulation of power grid. Thirdly, considering the energy storage loss, operation and maintenance cost, frequency modulation compensation and other factors, the filtering time constant is taken as the optimization variable, and then the PV-storage power station participating in the power grid frequency modulation capacity planning model with the goal of maximum benefit is established. Finally, Matlab software is used to simulate the capacity planning model of the PV-storage power station and the peak regulating service. The simulation results show that the capacity planning model can realize the rational planning of frequency modulation resources and improve the economy.
