Decentralized Cruise Control of High-Speed Trains with Modelling Uncertainties

This paper deals with the decentralized cruise control problem of high-speed train movements. We treat the high-speed train as a multiple-point-mass model where adjacent cars are connected by flexible couplers. Then we design a decentralized control algorithm for the high-speed train, so that each car can track the reference speed. In order to guarantee the stability of the high-speed train system, we present sufficient conditions in the form of linear matrix inequalities. Under the conditions, the speed of each car converges to the reference value. Finally, numerical experiments are given to confirm the correctness of the theoretical results.
