A Homologous Composite Detection Method Based on AC Magnetic Flux Leakage and Differential Eddy Current to Detect Steel Plate Defects

Alternating current magnetic flux leakage (ACMFL) and eddy current (EC) testing are two commonly used methods to detect defects in ferromagnetic materials. In this paper, a homologous composite detection method is proposed, which uses the same energy source to stimulate the two detection methods and takes into account the advantages of the two methods to realize the composite detection of defects. First, the homologous compound detection method is proposed, and the feasibility of the proposed method is analyzed in principle. Then, by solving the finite element simulation model, the results show that the ACMFL and differential eddy current(DEC) signals are positively correlated with defect depths. Next, the correctness of the simulation model is proved by the composite detection experiment of different depth defects. Finally, the results show that the proposed method is an effective defect detection method.
