DSMO-based hybrid sliding mode control for direct-drive PMSG wind power generator systems

In this paper, a hybrid sliding mode control (HSMC) stability control method is proposed to enable the generator to track the optimal speed and extract the maximum wind energy stably under different wind speed conditions. The control method combines a disturbed sliding mode observer (DSMO) and a sliding mode controller (VSRL-SMC) based on a variable speed reaching law (VSRL). VSRL is used to improve the convergence speed of the sliding mode controller while weakening the sliding mode chattering to further improve the response speed and robustness of the system. DSMO performs online real-time estimation of the aggregate disturbance and feeds the estimated value to VSRL-SMC for compensation in real time to weaken the power oscillation of the wind power generation system (WPGS) and improve the stability of the WPGS. Finally, the overall simulation analysis of HSMC-based WPGS is performed using MATLAB under the wind speed step change condition. The simulation results show the effectiveness and feasibility of the designed control scheme.
