Mathematical Modelling for Cholera Epidemic in Iraq

In this work, we provide the logistic and Gompertz mathematical models to assess the current expansion and containment of the cholera outbreak in Iraq from June 22nd to December 20th, 2022, providing insights into the cholera epidemic dynamics and the efficacy of intervention strategies. The real data has been cited from trusted scientific references and official medical sources to estimate the parameters that are required to solve the differential equations which represent logistic and Gompertz mathematical models of the cholera epidemic, examining the factors influencing its transmission and potential measures for containing it. Furthermore, the estimations given by both logistic and Gompertz models have all revealed considerable parallels between reported and estimated data. Through this analysis, we aim to provide a better understanding of the cholera epidemic and help inform effective public health policies to mitigate its impact on the population.
