Printed Flexible Polystyrene-Based Temperature Sensor with high Chemical and Mechanical Stabilities

This study evaluates the efficiency of a printed flexible temperature sensor in detecting temperatures from -10 °C to 100°C. The sensor is fabricated from a nanocomposite of polystyrene and graphite flakes, deposited on a polyethylene terephthalate substrate using the doctor blade easy-coating printing technique. The resulting sensor has a remarkable performance, displaying a notable step-like reversible temperature response and a linear response within a range of -10 °C to 60°C, with a sensitivity of +0.29% °C

. Moreover, the sensor has high chemical and mechanical stability, resisting gas poisoning and repetitive bending. This fully printed, flexible temperature sensor holds great promise for applications requiring accurate and adaptable temperature monitoring in various industries.
