Algorithm of the Autonomy of a Phytomonitoring Mobile Robot in a Greenhouse Facility

Mobile robots are becoming increasingly common in the agricultural industry. However, the efficiency of their use depends on the capacity of the battery, which decreases over time, as at peak loads it can provide only limited continuous operation without human involvement. Therefore, the development and use of algorithms for independent recharging of batteries of mobile robots is an important component for ensuring the long-term autonomy of the robot. The development and testing of such an algorithm in a greenhouse facility confirmed the increase in efficiency and autonomy of the mobile robot due to the reduction of idle time for recharging. At the same time, the algorithm provides monitoring of the current battery charge level, the location of the battery and the charging station, the state of the battery, the design features of the greenhouse facility, etc.
