Design of Compensator for Chebyshev Sharpened Comb Filter

This paper presents the design of compensators for Chebyshev sharpened CIC (cascaded-integrator-comb) decimation filters. The magnitude response of the compensator is chosen depending on the value of the passband edge of interest. The optimum compensator parameters are obtained using MATLAB particle swarm optimization (PSO). A multiplierless design is realized by presenting the optimum parameters in signed-power-of-two (SPT) forms. The method is illustrated in two examples. The proposed design is compared with the designs from the literature to show the advantages of the proposed approach.
