The Pillow-Type Unrestrained Heart Rate Measurement System for Sleep-State Analysis

In this paper, as an application method for a pillow-type system, we prototype and implement a heart rate measurement system using pressure sensors that are easy to install and evaluate the heart rate measurement performance. The proposed method uses a pressure sensor to obtain hardware and software for heart rate changes from the neck. PPI, the interval between heartbeats, is measured by detecting waveform peaks. As a result, the proposed approach is practical as a nonbinding heart rate measurement method in a pillow-type system for determining sleep stages.
