1bit Coding Reflection Metasurface with Wide Incident Angle

A 1bit coding reflection metasurface with wide incidence angle in Ka band is proposed in this paper. The proposed meta-atom is printed on a single-layer substrate with a circular patch etched with a cross-slot. By adjusting the radius of the patch and the size of the cross-slot, the reflection phase difference of meta-atoms is guaranteed to be within 180° ± 30°. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed metasurface maintains good angular stability within the incidence angle 0-70° in the frequency range 25.8-28.6 GHz (10.3%). The beam reflection with different incidence angle can be controlled through the array arrangement, which can be used for repeater and signal compensation in 5G/6G wireless communication.
