External Embedded Multi-U-Shaped Column Rotary Transformer With High Efficiency and Stability

The contactless rotary transformer based on wireless power transmission technology can solve the problems of excessive friction loss and low system stability, which are caused by the rotation of traditional conductive slip rings in the operation time. In this article, an external embedded multi-U-shaped rotary transformer (EEMUCRT) based on discrete spliced core is proposed. This structure embeds the outer core into the inner core. Compared with the structures mentioned earlier in the article, the coupling coefficient of the system is higher on the premise of smaller volume and weight. Based on the analysis of the magnetic core arrangement and the magnetic circuit model, the optimal structural parameters and arrangement of the primary and secondary magnetic cores are obtained by theoretical calculation and simulation. In order to verify the rotational stability and offset tolerance of the structure, an experimental prototype was built, and the results showed that the EEMUCRT can transmit energy efficiently and has good stability.
