Energy performance indicator kWh/m2*DG air-conditioned in a tertiary sector company

This research develops the energy planning phase in the general administration of a tertiary sector company based on the Cuban standard NC ISO 50 001: 2018. Pareto charts for the energy sources, and control charts for consumption and production were created, an energy baseline was proposed, and the energy performance indicator was calculated. General administration consumes about 40.7% of the company’s total energy, which is a key factor in the efficient management of the company. From a count of installed loads, it was estimated that the second floor of the enterprise accounts for 53% of the total installed power. The energy baseline was presented considering the variables degree days air-conditioned with a correlation level of 83%. Based on the baseline, the critical energy performance indicator was calculated to be 1.50 ${\mathrm{kWh}}/{\mathrm{m}}^{2}$ air-conditioned. Finally, the energy saving option proposed was the replacement of fluorescent lamps with LED tubes, resulting in an energy saving of 1,640.44 kWh/year and an economic saving of 3,510.6 ${\$}$/year. The proposal of a solar photovoltaic system for the company had a net present value of ${\$}$651,344.87 after 25 years, a payback period of 6 years, and an internal rate of return of 12%, considering the investment costs.
