A Method Based on Newton-type Algorithm for Sub-Synchronous Oscillation Analysis

A method is proposed in this paper for analyzing sub-synchronous oscillations in renewable energy power systems that are theoretically applicable. The method is based on the establishment of state space equations and eigenvalue calculations and introduces Newton and least squares methods to estimate the parameters of each mode in the signal. The algorithm is tested on two different sets of data. One set consists of a purely computer-generated signal, while the other is obtained from digital simulations on the DIgSILENT/PowerFactory platform. The test results demonstrate the feasibility of the method.
