Application of Artificial Intelligence for Improving Internal Logistics in the Garment Industry: A Literature Review

This paper presents a literature review on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the balance of logistics and assembly lines within the fashion industry between 2012 and 2022. The study highlights the significant benefits of AI in terms of efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Using artificial intelligence technologies such as machine learning to optimize tasks, forecast demand, adjust production levels, and optimize resource allocation, resulting in significant cost savings. However, challenges such as data collection and management and the high initial cost of implementing AI solutions have been identified. The article recommends that fashion companies consider integrating AI into their internal logistics and assembly line coordination processes, and highlights the need for collaboration between researchers, industry practitioners, and policymakers to fully realize the benefits of AI in apparel manufacturing.
